How shipping charges are calculated and how to keep them down.

We charge you what we get charged.  There is no mark-up or margin on shipping costs.

We use good quality shipping boxes and padded bags. We buy these in bulk to get a good rate. There is very nominal charge for shipping materials.

The table below is a guide to how shipping rates are calculated.

Please note they are rough estimates for illustration purposes and are for standard postage to Australian metropolitan locations. Overseas, country Australia and Express Post will be more expensive.

Small books and thin items ( less than 2cm height) weighing less than 125g can be shipped as documents and are relatively cheap to ship

As you can see the first 500g is the most expensive. After that each kg is progressively cheaper.

It costs roughly the same to ship 500g as 2.75kg.   That is why we show you the weight of each item.

Warehouse Pickup

To  save on Shipping Costs if you are in or plan to visit or have friends and relatives in Adelaide we offer warehouse pickup.

Please note that this is strictly by appointment.

Displayed Dimensions and Weight include shipping material, Actual dimensions and weight of each item will be less. With Posters, Prints, beads  dimensions are packed.

Source & Condition of Products

Wherever possible we try and support small cottage-industry products. Clothing is sewn by tailors, jewellery is handcrafted by artisans, worship and meditation items are made by hand individually. Many books are printed on small presses in Indian workshops. Even quite a few CDs and DVDs we offer are produced by the artist or creator in home studios on CD-Rs or DVD-Rs. This allows for a wide variety of original and relevant products to be offered at reasonable prices, but it also increases the chance of small imperfections.  In addition as nearly everything has to come long distances there may be slight transport effects. We ask that you accept these small imperfections so that we may continue to support these small cottage industry products.
