This book is a selectioh of a wide range of recipes gathered from various places in West Bengal.  Included within is a selection of both aristocratic and simple village cooking , as well as traditional recipes takes from scripyures such as Sri Caitanya Caritamrta.

 

In the past the devotees of Sri Caitanya Mahapabhu were very expert in cooking for him all of these delicious preparations . Bhaktivinoda Thakara gives a list of these dishes in Bhoga Arati song, and mentions that Lord Krsna also eats them with great delight.
