Canto Two Srimad Bhagavatam at a Glance

In the Second Canto Sukadeva begins speaking Bhagavatam by describing the Lord’s Universal Form, Supersoul feature and devotional service, which can bring about a change in heart. In answer to Pariksit’s questions, he also describes the creation and the ten topics of the Bhagavatam.

In Canto One, King Pariksit had questioned Sukadeva about what is the duty of a man about to die. In the Second Canto Sukadeva recommends chanting of the Hare Krishna mantra as the doubtless and fearless path of success. In the beginning of creation, Lord Brahma (the creator of this universe) pleased Lord Krishna immensely. Thus the Lord spoke to him the four seed verses of Bhagavatam, which are the essence of the Bhagavatam, describing our relationship with the Lord and how to act in that relationship in order to go back to Godhead and live eternally with Lord Krishna in full bliss and knowledge.

Canto Two contains a pictorial overview (a picture for every verse) with a written overview at the end of each chapter.
