Spoken by Krishna on the battlefield of Kurukshetra circa 3000 BCE, the Gita offers reasonable answers—in down-to earth, easy to understand language—to life's big questions; Who are we? Why are we here? Why do we suffer? What should we do? Is there a supreme person, an ultimate source of all energies, and if so what is our relationship with that person?

 

His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada is recognized as the twentieth century's foremost teacher of ancient India's Vedic wisdom. His commentary on Bhagavad-gita serves to clarify and amplify Krishna's teachings in a way that's accessible to the western reader, thus it's title, "Bhagavad-gita As It Is."Since its publication in 1970, Bhagavad-gita As It Is has become the world's most widely read edition of the Gita.
